I Have a Quick Question⏱️🤔❓What New Rules for 2026 Under (OBBBA) Do I Need to Know About?

The answer, of course, is “it depends”—and it’s neither quick nor easy.

As with most tax questions, the real answer depends on your specific facts, your goals, and the tax law itself. And in this case, the law is the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), Public Law 119-21 passed in July 2025.

Since its passage, our office has spent countless hours ⏰ attending in-depth seminars devoted entirely to the OBBBA. We’ve been learning the provisions, discussing how to educate our clients (and ourselves), and developing thoughtful tax planning and tax-minimization strategies for 2024 (where applicable), 2025, and 2026—and beyond. This work continues as technical corrections and IRS guidance are released.

Over the past several months, I’ve been highlighting different aspects of the OBBBA in my weekly blog posts—not to provide quick fixes, but to start us thinking 🤔, talking 🗣️, and planning ✍🏻…because when it comes to taxes, “quick answers” often feel like putting a band-aid on a bullet hole 🩹🔫. These “quick questions” are meant to be jumping-off points for deeper conversations, just like the blogs you’ve been reading—conversations that ultimately must align with your short-term priorities and long-term financial goals 🧭💬.

For now, let’s take a breath. Enjoy the last few days of the holiday season and the first days of 2026—and leave the heavy tax talk until next week. If you really can’t resist, I invite you to revisit our recent blog posts, which highlight not only what’s coming in 2026, but also items that may affect your 2025 tax return.

Final Thoughts Let the planning begin… after the weekend.

This isn’t about wishful thinking 🩶🌈🌥️🌤️ or saying “I wish I had…” later on. It’s about being proactive, informed, and prepared.
